Ways You Can Help

Treasure Coast Food Bank's food procurement team is responsible for building reliable partnerships with local and national donors. Through the support of food industry donors, the Food Bank receives surplus, donated food product to distribute to partner agencies in the region who feed the hungry.

Nationally, TCFB receives donations by means of an affiliation with Feeding America, the Nation’s Food Bank Network (FA). Donations are made by large food industry companies who donate to the Feeding America Food Bank Network which then allocates donations through the national distribution system to Food Banks throughout the USA. Although this is a large portion of our incoming food, we must rely on local donors for majority of the food needed for distribution.

Local donations come from various sources including Retailers, Wholesalers, Manufacturers, and Distributors within Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties. Support from local suppliers provides the Food Bank needed food and grocery products while reducing food industry waste. All local donations are transported and handled according to food safety standards by the Food Bank’s qualified staff. Donors can be assured that the Food Bank adheres to national standards and inventory control systems while insuring that their donation is reaching qualified food assistance programs. Can you help the needy people of the Treasure Coast by donating your surplus food products?

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

- A 70-Ton Gift to the Hungry

FORT PIERCE — The weighing is over, and St. Lucie County residents are the big winners, as they donated more than 72 tons of food during the National Stamp Out Hunger food drive. The food drive conducted by the National Association of Letter Carriers is the largest single-day food collection in the nation, and the letter carriers in St. Lucie County, along with Jensen Beach, collect to fill the shelves at the Treasure Coast Food Bank. TCFB Awarded new " Farmer's Market on Wheels"

Treasure Coast Food Bank recently received a new Mobile Pantry vehicle thanks to a generous grant from Kraft Foods and Feeding America.  This 26 foot vehicle will allow us to distribute thousands of pounds of fresh produce and mealtime staples to families in our area’s food deserts – urban and rural areas where residents have limited access to grocery stores and emergency food assistance.  Our new beverage-style refrigerated truck – a “farmers-markets-on-wheels”- will bring clients fresh fruit, vegetables, protein and dairy products that are especially important for good nutrition and often missing from the diets of low-income families.

Our Mission The mission of the Treasure Coast Food Bank is to obtain and distribute food and needed products through partner agencies to help alleviate hunger in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties.
